Doing Unto Others
Thank you for your further interest.
Love God and love man, as you love yourself. Taught in both the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible, this tenet of faith is the basis of our motivation to serve you to the best of our ability. The Bible illustrates and applies this teaching many ways. Some of that teaching deals with our work and how we perform it.
The Bible begins with God’s work of creation, from which He rested on the seventh day. The first reference to man’s work in the Bible, Genesis 2: 15, reads, “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” God gives man work to do. Man working in God’s garden pleases God, it is an expression of love toward God. Likewise, we believe, doing our best for you is an expression of loving you, and so it pleases God.
The very practical book of Proverbs encourages diligent work to the best of our ability. Proverbs 22: 29 reads, “Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men.” This is clear encouragement to work hard and excel in our work.
We could reinforce these examples with many others, but the point is clear. Doing our best work expresses love for God and man, as the Bible instructs. The followers of Jesus are instructed more directly in 1 Corinthians 10: 31, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Citing these two essential and common elements of life, eating and drinking, makes a point. If even the most ordinary things in life are to be done to God’s glory, then everything should be done to His glory.
Jesus came to work. In John 4: 34 Jesus responds to concerns he had not eaten, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” Later Jesus prays in John 17: 4, “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.” We believe Jesus worked because he loves the Father and man. It shows us how we should approach work.
We believe Jesus’ work was redemptive. Our redemption was its goal. It was a work of love so immense and so personal we want to show our love to this beneficent God out of gratitude. This drives us to do our best for you when we have the pleasure and opportunity to serve your speech needs.
